Pretty Woman Valentine

It was the day before Valentine's Day and Harry was walking back to his desk at the end of his lunch hour. He chanced to look down the hallway and saw the curvy figure of Sally, a pretty administrative assistant chatting with Max, one of the production analysts. Harry had often seen Sally and Max enjoy lunch together. They seemed to be good friends. He wondered if they kept company after work too.

Irritated by this tête-à-tête, Harry changed his direction and headed toward them. As he approached, he overheard Max, "...and I like the paddle shifter. It's cool."

Harry interrupted, "What car is that?"

Max answered, "BMW 650i."

Harry said, "Man, that's an expensive car. Who would spend a year or so salary on a car? It's a foolish waste of money."

Max shrugged and replied, "Some people like that sort of thing."

Harry said, "Absurd. A car is a depreciating asset. In the end, you have nothing."

Sally jumped in to say, "Well, what's your weakness?"

Harry pursed his lips as he came close to blurting out, you. Instead, he said "Women."

"Really," exclaimed Sally. She hooked her arm in Harry's, waved at Max, "see you later," and led Harry down the hallway.

Harry's heart raced at the warmth of her so close. His thoughts lingered on the feel of her as her hips rubbed on him with every other one of her steps.

"How do you feel about sharing?" said Sally. "You share some of the contents of your wallet and I share some of my charms?"

Harry turned and looked at her pretty face for a few seconds, at the soft curve of her lips, then the larger curve of her breasts. An urge rose in him to hold her and to never let her go, to keep holding her until she and himself merged into... a couple?

Smiling, Harry answered, "I would like that."

Sally returned his smile, "For you, because I like you, I have a first-timer rate."

"OK, when?"

"Are you free tonight?"

"Yes."

"Great!" Sally's smile widened, crinkling her eyes, "Meet me in the lobby at 5. We will have dinner at a Mexican restaurant and then go on from there."

"I look forward to it."

Sally stopped walking, released Harry's arm, turned to place her palm on his chest. No longer smiling, she looked directly into his face. "And Harry, there is one rule in all this, no falling in love with each other."

Harry frowned, leaned in, kissed her lips, and whispered to her, "It's already too late."
